The story behind the shirt

Worn in the season in which Manchester City finished third in the Premier League. From 38 matches, the Citizens picked up 21 wins, eight draws and nine defeats for a total of 71 points. Once again, the top scorer was a player with 22 goals, followed by two players with seven goals each. One player led the assist statistics with eight assists, while another contributed seven. Particular highlights included a commanding 6-0 win away against Ipswich and a 4-0 home win over Newcastle, while heavy defeats against Tottenham (0-4) and Arsenal (1-5) marked the year. In the Champions League, City finished only 22nd in the league phase with eleven points from eight matches, where the top scorer netted eight goals. In the FA Cup, the team reached the final but lost there to Crystal Palace 0-1.
