Virslīga

The Virslīga is the top Latvian football league and is organised by the Latvijas Futbola federācija. Its history dates back to 1927; after an interruption caused by the Second World War, play resumed in 1992. The season is played within the calendar year, starting in mid-March and ending in early November. Skonto Riga is the league's record champion. The champions qualify for the UEFA Champions League, while further places grant entry to the UEFA Europa League. Vintage shirts from the Virslīga preserve the memory of decades of Latvian football history. mehr lesen...
