Mauritius

The Mauritian national football team, known by the nickname "Club M", represents the island nation of Mauritius internationally. It is overseen by the Mauritius Football Association and belongs to the African confederation CAF. The first documented international match took place in 1947. The greatest success so far was participation in the 1974 Africa Cup - to this day the only appearance at the final stage of an African continental tournament. Mauritius has not yet managed to qualify for a World Cup. The shirts of this national team represent a modest but distinctive footballing history of a small island nation in the Indian Ocean. mehr lesen...
