Ecuador

The Ecuadorian national football team, known as "La Tri" (La Tricolor, "The Three-Coloured One"), is the representative side of the Federación Ecuatoriana de Fútbol, which joined FIFA in 1926 and CONMEBOL in 1927. The team played its first international match in 1938 in Bogotá against Bolivia, which ended 1-1. Traditionally, the players wear yellow shirts, blue shorts and red socks - the three colours that give the team its nickname. The national team has so far taken part in five World Cup finals tournaments, reaching the round of 16 in 2006. mehr lesen...
